Hi

A friend of mine send his Puma in for scheduled service, after recieving it back he noticed that the seloniode of the dual battery system is not opening (opens at 13.1V with out load) He took the vehicle to the dual battery system installers, who after exstensive tests concluded that the altenator is only putting out 12.7V without load. The Land Rover dealership also cane to this to realisation and said that it is normal. Does anyone know the specs for the altenator fitted to the 2008 2.4 tdci engine.

The fault was discovered to be a loose positive cable on the starter after repairing this the voltage was reading at 14.2 v. The fault was found by the company that installed the dual battery system fter the dealership was unable to trace the problem. Hope this helps someone in the future
 
Top tip real, just go's to show it is really the simple things you need to check first, rather than thinking the worst! great picture by the way, where did you get that, i want one ,series1 would be better!!
