It was under warranty for the first time they tried to fix, so this is an ongoing issue, and will continue even after warranty expires, to be covered for rectification.
Even if it is rectified for a short period, the repairs should last a reasonable about of time, which a week is not.
my 300 is better than that with 130K on the clock!

does it smoke like that every time you turn it off and start it or does it only smoke, say when you have left it overnight ? once you drive it does it clear? or once warm is it clear or still slightly visable ?

I had the same problem with my 300tdi and it turned out to be the injection pump was making it over fuel just on start up and overrun have u had the ecu checked may be compleatly wrong but does look like mine used to on vid

Smoke stinks of burning oil or possibly diesel. It smokes really bad in the morning and then it gets better throughout the day but if you leave it for a few hours it gets bad again. The smoking can reduce to bearly nothing if driven a lot. People have commented on the smell as I have driven past them.

It has only covered 30k so wouldn't say it's had a hard life.

It is also a bit lumpy on first start up and doesn't always start on the button as a car of this age should.

You know if its oil it stinks real bad, well unless seals are really bad it should burn it off after a while but if you say its there but less all the time then well hard to say could be rings but you said bit. stopped for a bit so seal rings wouldn't stop for a bit the more info the better

Exhaust is very black and sooted up. If you see the video I posted on this thread it is like that most of the time. Smokes loads to start with but the more you rev the more it clears and then seems to smoke as much as it is at the end of the video for the rest of the time. Eventually after 10-15 mins it clears completely. But stop and leave it 2hours and it will be back to where it started.

The smell is acrid. I would say it is more of a diesel smell but don't really have the experience to say for sure.
