Hi, just been advised that my 2008 Defender 90 has failed its MOT on a leaky fuel tank.

My mechanic is trying to source a replacement, but has been told by Paddocks, Craddocks etc. that the fuel tanks were later modified to stop this problem recurring and there aren't any aftermarket replacements out there to buy and the stealer wants £500 odd quid for an OEM one!

Anybody had this problem and any suggestions please?

TIA

Don't know if its the same as a 110, but theres one on ebay, item 173618677920. They might have one for a 90.

Thanks - I've had a look through their items and seems not. I have saved them as a seller so I can keep my eyes on their listings

contact them and ask. They were advertising that they hold 50,000 landy spares when I got parts from them. There is another supplier near them with similar gear (they might be linked), I will get some info.

Take a look at 'bay item 143385905198. Not a tank, but read below the item description regarding what they stock and get in contact with them. You might be lucky
edit; this is the "other" supplier

Are you sure it’s not the breather on the top of the tank? Very common leak area. Failure of the tank itself is not impossible, but is not common either.

It has worn through the actual plastic tank as it has been rubbing on the guard plate beneath it. I have managed to source a used one from a breaker online which arrived today. Off to the workshop for fitting later.

Thanks everyone for your input and time to respond to my post :)

Thanks - I tried all the usual suppliers, Paddocks, Craddocks, Bearmach, Rimmer Bros. all of whom were not able to help! The main stealers wanted £700 odd quid for the newer replacement which comes with the hoses and brackets etc. Ridiculous!!!

What about putting a all out on Facebook? There are a good number of LR suppliers there...
