Hi all, i have another issue with my P38, after replacing the alternator as the old one had seized i have noticed that the dash lights and the head lights are pulsating quite severley when running, i did disconnect the battery when i changed the alternator, would this cause this pulsating issue
Any help greatky appreciated

no

If it was a new alternator, take it back. If it was from a breakers, you still might be able to take it back. Otherwise, you need a new one.

+1, most likely the alternator is defective. Check all the connections and earths first though.

The alternator i got was from emmotts of colne, was a used one in "good working condition" may have to message them and see what they can do, thanks for your replies chaps, much appreciated

They're usually pretty good. I have an engine from them that's excellent but I also needed an alternator so I got one from them as well. It was a couple of months before I got round to fitting it but it has the classic pulsing ABS light which indicates a blown diode in the rectifier. I've left it on for the time being as I couldn't really complain after having it for months. If you've only just got yours, I'm sure they'll be able to help you.
