Hello again all...

After spending countless time searching for the best tool to access immo on my mk1 2006 freelander td4 I've seen 90% of people recommend the PSCAN tool as the SDD tool does not work for the FL1.

I'm trying to programme a secondary remote fob to my landy, it just seems £180 plus postage costs for the tool directly from pscan.uk is quite expensive for the sake of a secondary remote fob so I was wondering if anyone knew of a different tool, method or something that can help me. Or even if any members on here have the pscan tool for sale at a cheaper price lol. Tried eBay and other buying websites but can't seem to find it anywhere apart from pscan.uk directly.

Any info or recommendations would be very appreciated, thank you.
 
The pscan does a lot more than programming of remotes. Have you had a quote from LR to program a new remote? If you do, you'll soon discover that the pscan is good value.

Speaking on this, I bought an Icarsoft V2 which I was told at the time would read the OBD on the Freelander 1 I have, but it did not and actually performs really poorly in my opinion, can't really do anything not even with my 2013 Nissan

Is the PScan any good?
What can it do?
I think from what I have heard you use a laptop to use it?

Yes - you need an old laptop to use the Pscan. I have one with windows 7 for it.

Pscan pretty much connects to every ECU possible in a Freelander 1 (not 2), as well as full code reading and live data. I had an icarsoft at first but sent it back for the exact same reasons, and purchased the Pscan.
You will recover your money after a couple of uses, being able to quickly identify issues and replace correct parts, rather than throwing parts at a vehicle and hoping for the best!

I have been looking over their website and it seems I should have an old laptop only had my Icarsoft a few months, hoping I can return it but we shall see! the Pscan looks promising!

FWIW, in my book, Pscan is the best diag tool for an F1. It’s pretty much dealer-level functions I believe.
 
I have a Foxwell NT530 & programming fobs is in the menu (although I've never had to use it for fobs) . It's been invaluable for most other stuff & it covers all JLR vehicles so I use it my FL1 & D2 but as said for a dedicated FL1 tool you probably can't beat the p scan.
 
@xDParis64 I can show you Pscan if you pop over for engine. Return the icarsoft as not fit for purpose.
That would be brilliant! already emailed them saying it is not fit for purpose, but would be good to see how it actually works especially if you have any pre-2001 Freelander's as I believe that is the same MEMS1.9 ECU that I've got in mine...?
 
No. Fraid not.

V6s are out of stock at the moment. Don't like working on those, not enough room.

K series is easiest and fits nicely in the engine bay. TD4 is a bit of a squash but most things can be done ok.
