Hi, can any of you disco guys give me any advice on buying (or not) a disco 3. I'm currenly looking seriously at them after an interesting few years of Range Rover P38 ownership and its fascinating air suspension issues.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Andy :)

this

unless you have an outstanding warranty, because it will break, and it will be expensive to repair

Lol! I kinda thought that, there's too much bad press for it not to have any substance. Shame cos cosmetically, I like the look of them. Will see if I can find a low mile late Td5 then or L322 R/R. Cheers

Well I had my D3 HSE for just under 2 years, without any problems at all, did all the usual towing, and off roading at Tong etc

One of the best cars I have owned.

Just make sure you get post 2006 as they are less problematic (apparently).

Put it this way, my td5 will be changed in the next few years and I will not be buying a Disco3 nor a disco4 visit landroverhell.com Once my td5 says "no more" it is going to be a new shogun sg3 sorry to say but I just would have no long term faith in the reliability of the later discoveries.

I think its like most cars - you hear about the bad apples, and that then reduces faith.....admittedly, there were a few bad apples in the D3 line-up, esp due to the electronic handbrake, but these were ironed out, as far as I was aware

I would certainly look at getting one again, but would buy as new as I could, if not brand new like I did before, but that's a lot of pennies......
