Hi all, just joined this site, bought a 1999 Freelander with no propshaft and was wondering if it's possible to fit a propshaft without the IRD and a VCU?

The proshaft is used to allow power from the engine/gearbox/ird to get to the rear wheels via the vcu and rear diff. No point in fitting a prop if yer vcu is missing. It won't do any thing as it not connected.

:welcome2:

Normally when the vcu or/and the props are missing, there's some thing wrong with the transmission. Many remove something to reduce the stress to make faults dissapear. Cheap fix.

Hi thanks for that hippo, will see how i go on,its got chunky tyres on hope its ok in the snow in yorkshire.
