Hi can anyone tell me the best solution when converting the rear propshaft to a double uv. I’ve got a 2 inch terrafirma kit fitted and a bad vibration I assume at the donut. The kit I’m looking at is 105 quid on eBay by Maltings off-road ltd?. New propshaft and the new flange comes with a spacer.. should I assume this will do the job or has anyone got a better idea 272482053496 this is the eBay listing.
Cheers Deepee.

I did this a few years ago, I was lucky enough to find a prop in a scrap yard for about a tenner tho so I bought a flange kit for 20 odd quid with no spacer and a non genuine seal. Mine has been fine without a prop spacer but the seal leaked like a sieve after about a week so I put a corteco seal in and it’s been fine for years
Are you sure the vibration is the rear cos it’s common for it to be the front after a lift, remove one shaft and go for a drive and if it stops vibration it’s the prop you took off. Have you checked the uj’s and diff pinion bearings etc. don’t forget to put diff lock in and make sure the handbrake drum retainer screws are there if you take the back prop off

Hey guys, reviving an old thread here :)

I’ve got vibration from my prop shaft after doing a 2 inch lift.
By looking at it and inspecting it to my untrained eye it seemed to be all right though..
but I’ve done the test to drive without the front propshaft and it was gone.
What would be a good solution?
spacers on the old propshaft?
or a new wide angle front propshaft?

thanks
Hugo

Is the sliding part of the prop sliding? and even if it feels ok it could be stiff at some point. while its off put in new greaseable UJs not alot of money.
We have 2" and no issue.

Jup it was sliding properly. Gave it a proper grease when I took it off actually when I installed the lift as well.
The UJs did seem to be also in good condition and move freely without any issue but I’ll give it a go!

Spacers would make it worse, if the prop is having to work through tighter angles, but I too have done a 2" lift on a D1 with no problems. i don't know what vehicle you have.

Glad it’s sorted

I don’t know personally anyone who benefited from prop spacers on 2” lift, tho some may have?

Have a goosey gander at ‘Propshaft phasing’ on the tinterweb, maybe something on you tube

This is more often than not the cause of vibration after a lift
