Hi i have a freelander 1.8 R. THERE IS NOISE COMING FROM THE PROPSHAFT WHEN DRIVING I TOOK IT IN TO A GARAGE AND HE SAID HE THINKS ITS THE COUPLING.(LOOKING ON THE INTERNET IM SURE THE COUPLING IS IN BEETWEEN THE REAR AND FRONT PROPSHAFT.? IM NOT SURE HE IS RIGHT. IF I JACK THE FREELANDER UP AND TRY TURN THE FRONT WHEEL THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE PROPSHAFT WHICH HAS 6 BOLTS CONECTING. YOU CAN SEE THE PROBLEM PART FROM THE ENGINE WHEN THE BONET IS UP. CAN YOU ADVISE ME ON THE PART I NEED??

Might be the front prop, mine failed some time ago... If you get underneath and shake the prop near to the coupling 'can' - it's a tripod joint so don't just shake it in one direction!
You might even find the rubber gaiter is missing like mine was.

If theres any detectable play then it would be worth removing the front prop (leave the VCU and rear prop on) and test drive to prove or otherwise.
