those dam monkeys at the stealership have struck again!.
while i had my 2003 freelander up oon the ramps i noticed the gator (boot) had failed on the propshaft leaving the gearbox to the viscus joint. (its the one gearbox end)
ok, so i phoned the local stealership and they quoted nearly 300 notes for a new propshaft as you cant get a replacment gator. , so i phoned another, and another, and they all said the same thing, finnally i phoned exeter and the have ordered me one for 15 quid. but i really dont think the guy knew what i was on about.
i had to phone round because i snapped a stud off about 2 months ago and was quoted nearlt 150 quid for a new rear hub , phoned another, same price, )apparently the studs cant be removed), phoned taunton and the got me 10 new studs for £1.20 each, poped the hub, tap tap tap job done in an hour. so you cant trust these guys.
Anyway........................
apart from getting a universal gator, LR must do a replacment part. your thoughts?
