what a fokin ****!!

As CharlesY points, he will be asking for land rovers help when he's stuck in the snow...

when we had the snow earlier this year, there was this guy stoke on a bimmer estate, my mechanic and another guy saw him and went to give him a hand as they were in the middle of nowhere, they started to help and then spoted the sticker on the back

"ban chelsea tractors" or something like that..

they left him there :D

A bad workman always blames his tools ,comes to mind here ! only ever heard of 1 propshaft coming off a vehicle in 28 years of driving and that was a 30 tonne tipper so seems to me you have abused the vehicle in some way ,so suppose you will buy something else and when that breaks you will hate that too ,get a life and dont come on here talking your venom !

I have a P38 RR of which I wish I had never bought...last week the prop shaft fell off as I was doing 70 overtaking down the M6.......not a lot of fun !
Luckily, very luckily it was very late at night and very quiet...I could have catapulted over and /or been killed.

I hate Land Rovers.!!!

I will NEVER buy one again my friend has a brand new range rover and he has driven the courtesy car from the garage more times..28 times, yes 28 times its been in to the garage..its on lease so cant sell it..it has already lost thousands since August! My dad's Range Rover is 2 years old now and has been on the garge 12 times for suspension problems and the interior is inferior and scratches show for just touching the wood and /or the cheap plastic etc..!

I"m getting mine fixed then its going to be flogged I will NEVER sit in a Land Rover a EVER in my life ! they are SH** !!!
I will leave to for the nouveau riche who drive around in these death machines!!

End of !

Did you get an AA or RAC inspection done on the vehicle when you bought it? If yes, sue them. If no, WTF are you complaining about? You obviously know enough about these vehicles to check one over before buying it because otherwise you would have had an inspection done. This means the prop failure is YOUR OWN fault as you failed to spot, hear or feel the defect. Before you give all the rubbish about not seeing why you need to get an inspection done when buying a car, Just remember who had the prop fall off. If you own a P38 you either need lots of money or need to be handy with the spanners. Either way the fact that you are on here bitching about it says that you a) Don't know bugger all about the vehicle you bought, b) You failed to get an inspection done when buying the vehicle c) you failed to do any research on the type of vehicle that you bought d) Failed to feel or hear anything amiss e) Are fully to blame.

I parked my 90 on Sirus's driveway.

The chassis instantly rusted away and the electrics threw a fit.

What an absolute piece of **** driveway that is, I'm never going to use it again.

It must have given some signs before failing.
Instead of being a 10 bob millionair and buying an old rangie for burning up the m6 Had you not considered a new one???
or at the very least having the p38 correctly maintained.
I had a tranny van and 2 ton of wood come off the roof on the motorway doing 70, i shud av tied it on but fooking trannys, ill never have another.
.............................Dick head
ive heard you love Trannies, after all you used to shag one:D

1 lack of vehicle maintenance is to blame here... so the person who maintains the vehicle should have spotted a fault and as its the drivers responsibility to ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition before it undertakes a journey it is also the fault of the driver if it was a maintenance fault, if it was a freak accident (highly unlikely) where the prop disintegrated or the bolts failed (12 year old bolts mind you) its still not landrovers fault as the vehicle has exceeded its life expectancy as they are 99% of vehicles are built with a 10 year life expectancy!

so you see, the blame lies firmy on your shoulders, you could have caused a major accident!

My cambelt snapped on Saturday on my gti6 whilst out to nuy a new one and fitting kit it was 4yrs old and needed replacing which I knew..... I'm never buying one ever again, they're ****,

(good Job I like it and wanna fix it tho lol :D )

Feck me what a tit. My disco leaks like a sieve and I've just found the floor rusted through. Every job leads to another job and I spend too much time and money fixing it.

AND I STILL LOVE IT :)

Surely you would notice that something was amiss before the damn prop fell off? A rumble... an odd feeling while accellerating...a screeching noise as the prop began to collapse... something....

Oh wait a minute...

Does this motor have one of those big loud speaker systems that all those kiddies use to block out those annoying little tell tale noises?

The joints in my front prop started going and I certainly noticed it LONG before there was any risk of it disintegrating. You'd have to be some kind of total numpty not to realise something was wrong long before it got bad enough to disintegrate!

Perhaps it was a diesel and he just thought it was normal! :)

I remember watching that episode of mythbusters where they tried to launch a car by disengaging the prop shaft at high speed ( forward facing ).

They had to seriously fook the joints up to get it to break under stress, i mean there was fook all left if it, how on earth you allow it to get to that stage i have no idea.

Perhaps your better off without a RR, a bicycle may be better for you....

i changed the gearbox on my series last year...about 2 months latrer i stripped it down ready to rebuild it because the chassis was rotton.. so my landrover is crap because it had a rusty chassis and the gearbox packed up so im never going to buy more parts for it or get another one :rolleyes::eek::D

A prop shaft doesnt just break! It will give you warnings.

And if you want a decent Land Rover, buy pre 1998.
