Gents,

I have my 1986 ex mod 90 back in the States now and need to order wide angle propshafts (front and rear) due to some vibration after I installed a new suspension with a 2 inch lift (+ correction castor and trailing arms). I was searching the sight and found some good info on suppliers and found ones from Terra Firma TFWA650(front) and TFWA635 (rear). The say they are for a Defender 90 200TDI and I thought they would fit my Land Rover 90 as we have the same/similar trans and transfer box location, I assumed they would fit. I found a pair on John Cradddock but I send them an email to confirm they would work and got a reply back that they would not. Can anyone confirm? If not can you recommend a brand and spec. Everything I see points to Defender (1990+) vehicles and was wondering if the guy at JC was just quick to say they didn't fit because of the description and year difference. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Is is because I am a Yank and have taken one of your Land Rovers out of the country that no one has an answer to my question? JK, I have had Jabba (Ex MOD 90) since 2011 and he is part of the family. He was stolen once and I was fortunate to get him back. There was no way I was going to sell him when it was time to leave England. Now that I am back in the states I do not have the support system I had there. Mansfields in Bury St Edmonds or Richard Hall in Thetford. There is Rovers North but the prices are crazy high and I would rather buy from an English company John Craddock, Paddocks, LRSeries, etc. I have had Jabba out several times and the folks here in West Virginia dont know what to make of it. Most think it is a kit car or jeep wrangler as I get the Jeep wave from time to time. I have taken the van sides and top off for the summer and have made a bikini top out of an old ratty MOD top (I will post pictures) and was getting ready to take it to the Outer Banks in North Carolina but needed to sort the vibration first. I see plenty of Discos and Range Rovers over here but it is very hard to find a 90 unless you spot the extremely expensive D90 and then they are too valuable to do what they were designed for. Doug, speaking as another Yank have you considered going to a driveshaft shop and having one fitted to it? the J**P boys use a lot of double-cardan shafts so it's not like you couldn;t get that done - and down in the wilds of West Virginia you might be better off with a locally sourced option.

Barring that there are LOTS of other suppliers in the US than Rovers North - great folks but there are lots of others.

I think you will find a wide angle prop wont make any difference to the vibes, as said above a double cardon is the way to go.

Thank you both, I will see what my options are here but I would think that a bespoke propshaft would be more expensive than having one shipped but I will see what I can find (thanks MrChurchill109). I probably misrepresented how bad the vibration is. I can only notice it at slow speeds but I get a whine on overrun (coming down a hill) that I am sure is related to the propshaft UJs. That being said I dont want to buy wide angle props and find out I need double cardian if that makes sense. I appreciate the help and will let you know what I find out.

A whine wont be a prop noise.

2 inch lift doesn't usually need castor correct or any mods.

you done the basics and made sure all your bushes, balljoints and wheel bearings are up to snuff? (for vibes, not whine)
