Anyone got any good ideas on how to remove a stuck 300tdi injector. I’ve been at it for three days (on and off!!) others came out easy enough but this one is stuck fast. Have wiggled it, sprayed it, wiggled it, left it, pulled it... you know the drill. Have also tried turning the retaining plate over and using it a lever to tap it out but no joy either. Thinking next option is to get the head off and see if I can get some releasing fluid in from the bottom. Any other ideas most welcome.

Couple of kettle fulls of hot water poured over it.

Make a dam out of plasticine and pour full fat coke in, and leave for a few hours.

No4 was stuck in on my 200, I loosened the injector clamp and drove around for weeks, trying each day to remove it, I got it in the end, open ended spanner on the two flats and working it seemed to help.

Can't see that taking the head off will help, you will just make the job harder as the head will move around when you swing on the injector.
All the stuff sticking the injector in the head will be soot and gunge that has blown by the injector seal and is sitting on the outside of the head any way.
Let us know how the coke trick goes, I have never tried it, but I have heard of it before. I would also try a bit of heat around the injector as well.

Thanks guys. Tried the coke trick and left it overnight but still no joy this morning with the slide hammer / puller etc, etc.
I fashioned a bridge puller with 1"x1.5" box but that didn't work either or rather it crushed my bridge puller before the injector budged. Some force applied with a bar before it crashed the box section though. I wish i'd taken a pic of it but my wife nicked my truck this morning and i'd left my phone in it!!
Head is now off and i'm soaking it form the bottom as best I can and i'll make up a new bridge puller tomorrow but if no joy with that again I will take it to a local machine shop on Monday and see if they have any more joy. If they cant help i'll send it to Turner Engineering to clean up. The heater plug in that cylinder is also fast. I got a 2 degree turn on it but feared it was was deforming the plug rather then turning the thread. Now the head is off that is confirmed so they can sort that out too!!
Have discovered though that the last Squaddy to put this back together (truck released from MOD in March 2020) had a thing for missing out gaskets. He didn't use copper washers under the injectors which will not be helping the stuck injector issue (although the others came out without putting up too much of a fight) and crank oil seal gasket was left on the shelf too. I was resisting stripping this thing but kind of relieved I have now, given what we have planned for it.

Normally the coca-cola trick needs a few days to work. If all fails sending to Turner Engineering is no bad thing. They're incredibly helpful, great knowledge and will sort out your head o_O [see what I did there ;)] If Turner are reworking your head it'll most likely be cheaper/the right thing to do, by buying one of their gas flowed heads.

As an incentive, here's my Turner Engineering 200tdi Engine

Thanks @v8250. Turners re conditioned a 3.5 V8 block and gas flowed the heads for me a couple of years ago and did a brilliant job and super nice to deal with. Ricard could not have been more helpful. If I cant shift this thing locally they would be my first port of call thereafter. Cheers

Turners are ace when I rebuilt mine I got all the bits from their, watching them work is awesome :D
