Project pile of poo is finally running :banana::banana: after a shed load of time, money, sweat, blood and many tears, iv'e finally completed the fitting of a bmw engine into my p38, after the previous engine sadly passed away, r.i.p. range rover engine,as many of you are aware you have to fit the range rover electronic bits onto the top of the bmw pump, i understand that the idle speed is adjusted by sliding the top section backwards or forwards until i have an idle speed of 750, does anybody know which way it is to increase the idle speed, as mine is ticking over at about 600, is it forwards towards the front of the car or backwards towards the bulkhead? any help will be gratefully received.:confused::confused:

Another 2.5 or have you gone for the 3.0 litre? Twin turbo would be nice but i reckon it would chew everything else, lol

This thing is fighting me every step of the way, got the thing running last night but it was to late to really finish the job off and take it for a test drive. Got a phone call from Mrs Lucky this morning at work asking me and i quote "what is that black **** all over my drive, that's coming out of your bloody car!" when i came home tonight i had a look before it got dark and its engine oil, that appears to have come from the hole where the dipstick tube goes, a sudden thought occurred to me, did i fit the o ring on the end of the tube? only time will tell as i can't get a proper look until the weekend, the only bonus is that the old dragon has barely said two words to me since i got in! result.
