Has anybody had any dealings with Project 88 LTD (www.project88.co)?

I cannot find any reviews for them online and I'm curious as to if anybody has had experience with them and what their thoughts are?

Many thanks in advance.

They’ve a very sleek Instagram and website showing some impressive restorations. Unfortunately not being in the market for their restorations the nearest I’ve been to them is having a Marshall Bluetooth speaker mount for my Series 3. Was a Christmas present- very well made from my POV, if not on the more expensive side, but very happy with it. I’m told their comms are not the best though. Will be very interested to hear your tale of woe in due course….

If it's one bloke that started up last year, i don't see how he's got lots. Even if he started under his own name, he's not old enough to do more than one or 2 and without being ageist .. how much experience does he have?

Having resolved my issue, secured a refund, and avoided legal action, I can now share my experience.

Outlined below is a summary of the facts and that is all I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

On 6th February, I ordered a Marshall speaker mount (£53.99) from Project 88 Emporium, with next-day shipping promised.

By 16th February, nothing had arrived, and my attempts to contact Jake and his team via email, phone, Instagram, and WhatsApp were ignored—despite Jake being active online.

On 21st February, I finally received a WhatsApp response, assuring me the item had been dispatched and would arrive by 24th February, with a refund promised if it did not.

The deadline passed, no delivery arrived, and on 25th February, I requested my refund, warning of legal action if necessary.

Jake initially claimed to have refunded me and provided a screenshot showing a refund issued two days before I had even made the purchase! When questioned, he went silent.

He then dismissed my small claims court warning, saying, Why wait? Let’s start that now,” with a followup of "of course I will be sending a counter claim". Later, he insisted I couldn’t take action against him personally, and said “it will be my insurance company you have to take court. I have cover for such instance” , before blocking me on all platforms.

I sent a recorded delivery letter reiterating my refund request, expressing my disappointment, and setting a final deadline before legal proceedings.

Last night, I received my full refund.

Glad you got a resolution.

Honestly i was expecting £50000 not £50

Yes, I can thoroughly understand why you would think that.

There were times during my communications with Jake when I myself thought this is only about £50.

Whilst it took a week for him to respond to my messages once he did start replying, there was a lot of them - some of which some were not too pleasant in their tone.

All I wanted was either the goods I ordered or a refund not a lot verbiage from him.

Meh...sorry but you sound like a nightmare customer.

Fair enough initial lack of communication is poor but tell me if I've got this right.

On the 21st you were told delivery due on the 24th or you'd receive a refund.

The day after the 24th you demand a refund with threats despite it already been offered

The day after that you receive a refund.

Considering we have a whole thread on how awful parcel delivery services are, you were offered a replacement FOC to collect and received a refund the day after, somewhat unpleasantly requesting it. It looks like the company handled this quite well.

I haven't used the Small Claims Track for a while now, but it costs £100 to start the proceedings.
OK, if you win you get it back....

I think the company sounded a bit inexperienced but nevertheless polite and offering a free one really was going beyond what he needed to do.

This wouldn't put me off using them.
