Day off today so I went for it, I'm a bit scared now.

I'm going to stip her right down to see what the chassis is like, I know the out riggers and rear cross member is shot but not sure about the rest. I hope to repair then galvanise but if it's too bad then a new chassis is called for, it's been on a Welsh sheep farm for the last 25 years so who knows, I've been inspired by your rebuilds Aaron so it all your fault. I think I'm too old for all of this.

I wouldn't worry about it. Wiring is simple, bodywork is assembled very simply, just have a Haynes manual handy :)

Just to give you an idea of how simple it is, I'm 14 and have been doing a restoration on mine for the last 4 months. Strangely, same problems on my chassis. 1 rotten outrigger, and the X member was rotten. But the chassis is now done and looks beautiful. Take a look:

Anyway. Good luck with yours! I'm sure you will be able to do it :)

That looks like quite a hole in the chassis rail. Do you have a bit of welding experience? Do you have a large garage to work in or are you on the drive?

Yeah that looks like a hole in the chassis rail but it's not, it's black foam stuck to it. I'm on the drive at the moment but I'm looking for a unit/ garage but they are bloody expensive round here.

I did that here too, but I live in a village a long way from civilisation and I couldn't get one.
