When I've used the prog button in the last cold snap I was pleased to see that it did what it was supposed to, heater fan to full, heated front and rear screens come on and heated seats too(iirc).
This morning, up at 5am, and the prog button lights up but nothing happens BUT my book symbol is displayed, this isn't unusual and it disappears once the cab warms up and the digits slowly reappear, intending to do the Rippon repair when the weather warms up a bit.
So the question- does the book symbol showing stop the prog feature from working?
In the first cold snap I can't recall if the book was up or not.

On my 4.6 Thor P38, the "Prog" function still works, despite the "book" displaying on mine.
Hope that's helpful...

Maybe bring it inside, warm it up? It will get rid of any damp in there too. Does it do nothing ie screens don't heat?

Bugger and thrice bugger:D.
The heated rear screen worked with prog OFF but not the front.
I'll have a quick look for any popped fuses, before it goes dark or I get too cold:(

Front screen, fan speed and maybe, probably the heated seats didn't work. When I realised nowt was happening I turned off prog and tried the heated screens, front didn't work but the rear was, unsure if that rear screen was working during the prog session or just when I pressed the hrw button.
I was very happy with the prog feature but now I am sad:(.:D

Fuses all good. My next plan is to feel if the relays are clicking when the hfw button is pressed. I'll do that tomorrow when my helper is available.
I'll also see if the nanocom can make the screen work tomorrow.

Heated wind screens regularly fail, sometimes it's just the connections in the plenum corroded. The fans not going to full speed is more of an indication of the problem. Look for blueing of the relay pins for the fan relays.

Have to ask, how do you know the heated screen isn't working? Could just be the bulb? If it's condensation on the inside it can take ages to shift!
I notice when it's on, the elephants twinkle slightly when the sun catches them

Suppresses the fans for a bit when very cold until it has warmed up a bit.

No elephants round here:D.
Thin ice and lots of fluffy snow, it normally clears quite thick ice in under 10 mins, rear screen cleared quickly, just snow on that though.

On the other hand if nothing is working then that sounds more serious.

The bulb works even when the screen has failed.

If i recall, the drivers side relay is triggered, that sends power to the passenger side relay. If one doesn't work, they both don't. I think

Something has occurred o_O
Went to pick the Doris up, windscreen clear before I set off, pressed prog anyway and off I went. About 2 miles into the trip the fans went to full speed on their own and I noticed the book symbol was goneo_Oo_O. Dunno if it's fixed itself:D
