I thought that as I have some brake pipe fittings and pipe spare and the tools needed to make the pipes, would people be interested in me making brake pipes in the lengths that they needed with the correct end fittings which would save them having to buy a kit/tools to make the pipes? I would have to work out costs but would it be something that people would be interested in?

I've offered to do it for loads of people on here before who where struggling or asking whether to buy a tool or not. No one seemed bothered.

Fair enough. Wouldn't be making a profit, just seems pointless me having the tools and bits that won't get used until I buy another project which won't be until I finish Uni in about 3 years

I think t sounds like a good idea if you've got the kit why not. Put some idea of price together and see what folks think. :)

I thought the same. I'm all for helping people if I can.
Guess you've nothing to lose by offering.

hate to sound a killjoy but warranty and liability might be an issue, if you are producing pipes for others I presume you might need to have some form of insurance, and if you make a habit of it you might find the revenue sniffing round, these things always sound good as an idea ......

helping others out does have a feelgood factor but can be more trouble than it is worth.

Good point.

Good idea.

I guess for a lot of people they can just get a good local garage to do it for not that much money.

Don't think liability would be an issue if you put a disclaimer out. Or maybe it would. Actually I have no idea. That's the beer talking.

Buying a flaring tool etc and a load of copper pipe and fittings is still cheaper than buying ready made pipes or indeed getting a garage to do it. And once you've got the tools you can have your vehicle back on the road same day instead of waiting for some bloke to make you the bits and post them.
