I want to fit a piston ring replacement kit to the SLS compressor but when I started undoing one of the bolts holding the compressor box on, it turns but the bolt doesn't loosen. If the bolt had snapped wouldn't the bolt head drop off. I am thinking that the threaded insert in the other side of the box is turning. I have a spare box. Any ideas?

I will have to be careful as there isn't much room and although I don't mind making a mess of the box, I don't want to damage the chassis lug.

I will have to use a small disc such as dremmel type.

You can remove the compressor without removing the box. Had to do it with mine.

That sounds like the best plan. Answers what my next question was going to be. I will get stuck in on Thursday.

If you are careful you can actually change the piston ring in situ.

Does anyone ever change the desicant and filters in the air dryer? I notice there are kits for around £17
