only joking!,i am thinking of leaving it as it is but was a little concerned about the areas that are through to bare metal.it actually scrubbed up o.k. as you can see.
If the only parts that are down to bare ali are on the vent panels ,then all they need is flatting back with wet and dry 600 or 800grade .
Use a block as anything else has a tendency to leave a groove in the metal ie your fingers.Put a bit of liquid soap in the water as this prevents the paper from clogging up.You'll know when it's smooth when you lightly pass you fingers over it.and dont feel any edges .A dusting of acid etch over the bare ali is all that you'll really need for such a small area. You could if you wanted to then paint straight over it ,if you were not concerned as to the type of finish .Always make sure you degrease the panel/s before you apply any paint etc .You be surprised as to the amount of grease even from your hands that can be transferred to a panel just by touching it.If you also use primer the same applies after flatting back .
In view of the cost of acid etch and primer aerosols especially when such small areas are involved ,it is not uncommon for people to sometimes just flat the area back and paint straight over it .On the other hand if you purchase a couple of aerosols then you have them for any further use.
Hope this is of some help.
