Well good bit er info at start er this fred. . . .bad design using steel that rusts in a window mechanism ,on any motor really [will check mine and follow Dans advice] i prefer the motor in slider approach rather than cables, can yer make Dans advice a sticky slobmiester ?...

Nope, you mean the Rover/MG ones, they are just as problematic, usually its the regulator itself that goes.
