Is it possible for me to clean my 300tdi engine bay with a light pressure washer? Or will this cause damage? What are alternatives to clean the engine from years of gunk?

Wont kill it, but I would get 5 litres of brake clenaer (not aerosol cans) a pump up sprayer and a paint brush and try that first.

Works well, but please do not smoke whilst using the brake cleaner.

Get the engine hot if yer jet wash it. It will dry quicker.

I get wash my 200tdi engine every couple of years. Just don’t linger on any one spot for ages

This a good idea spraying cold water on a hot engine/components

Just don't aim the water at the alternator or at any other places water shouldn't go

It's only a splash. Yer not bathing it. The heat will dry out the electrical connectors etc.
