Not at all 😀
The future is life extension. I also get a kick out of seeing low mileage well preserved old vehicles.
All good, I know you started it the thread with good intentions, just couldn't resist it 😉

I bought my freebie because it was a cheap workhorse and you get a lot for your money if you find one that works. Now it's lasted a couple years and I've put 15k miles on it, and I've started to get a bit attached....

Now wondering what to do with it next, personally I'd like to take it off the road for a couple years and rebuild the engine, but I just don't have time or money or space for that yet. It's so tidy inside and I don't want to get rid of it yet don't think anyone else would be bothered about it - feel that with 95k miles on the clock it's not very desirable. Just want to keep it running in good condition if I can.

95k is nothing… look after it and it will go way more

My old F1 TD4 (still in the family 😉) has 140k on it and the engine is sweet (and very clean).
Daughter is bringing it down for a service next month.

The future is life extension. I also get a kick out of seeing low mileage well preserved old vehicles. You are right? FL 1s are getting scarce. Many have been used and abused due to value and scrapped due to VCU or rusty brake lines and the garage cost of replacement vs value of vehicle.

One day this will change. Like Escorts and Cortinas etc. Escorts were £100 -£500 when I was learning to drive. A mk1 Cortina in 1975 was part exchanged for £30 with 27k on the clock. Still not forgiven my uncle for this dastardly deed 😒
I've still not forgiven myself for selling my Vitesse convertible for £50 because that's how much I owed the council for the garage I stored it in.

Freelander 1 doesn't seem so rare at the moment....but this is rare:

L-series diesel.
Commercial.
50th Anniversary edition.

Needs a spot of work! but I doubt anyone will see another. Wish I could have it! bit far away for me.

1997 Land Rover freelander £400

I "decoded" the reg as T797 XAS from the photos.

I was looking for one of those for ages. Drew a complete blank and ended up getting the td4 version instead. That L series will be one of a tiny handful still on the road in a few years time if someone is prepared to do the work. I've got no idea what the repair costs would be but i doubt you'd lose on it.

How's about this one then. Assume no HGF worries with the work done to this 1.8!
And for those of you without Facebook...
