Hi Lads! Was at the garage yesterday.They rang me and told me that the problems was solved.They had changed the abc ecu for the second time.Mow it was a new one.I started the car and drowe 50km and the same thing happened.The power steering cut out.Now i told the seller to use a old land rover dealer to look at it.He agreed. I am seriously thinking about having a vacation in a phsychiactric clinic for some weeks .This car trouble soon kills me!
 
Its been 6 months now!!!

Time to either get a LR main dealer to sort it out at the Sellers expense, or give it back to him and demand your maney back, plus ompensation and go get another one!

This guy and this garage are taking the **** !!
 
The garage owner is a friend of the guy a bought the car from.He sells some cars and often use this garage.Earlier he has been satisfied with this garage.Now the seller agree with me that the garage can not manage this job.Some of the mechanics there has been working at the lr main dealer before.(or maybe beeing sacked from there).The funny thing is that the car seller bought my car from the lr main dealer with the defected power steering.They sold a new lr to an old millionaire and took my car in.The car seller bought my car as it is from the lr dealer.Now the lr dealer will check up my car.The ####ing garage did not have the lr t4 system. They could not even print out the faults.Now i have to trust the lr main dealer. A car is not better than the garage that repairs it.Thanks for your support!
 
Hello Lads! is it someone of you out there that has heard about similar problems with a power steering that cuts out?
 
Hi! I think i have solved this problems myself now.I searched the whole web a week ago,and found out a guy in the us with similar problems that i have.He had also changed the power steering pump and the sensor with no results.Ha was told my some expert that it had to be the becm.To reset the becm,he took out fuse number 15 in the glow compartment.When you take it out a alarm starts.This fuse reset the becm,central door locking,and maybe also the rear wiper.If this does not help,the becm has to be reprogrammed.When it`s beeing programmed you have to push the button"clear transport" and reset to "pre 2005 factory defaults".I reset mine becm one week ago and so long the central door locking and power steering has been ok.Next week the lr main dealer will check my becm and reprogramm or change it if it is necessary.Hope this solved my problems and maybe helped someone out there.

the 8th of may the seller have order service for my becm at the main dealer.It is only one problem.One my way home from work this evening i got the message "check coolant level".I opened the hood and the antifreeze was allover the lower part on the engine specially on the right side.I hope is not a big thing.I have to take away some plastic tomorrow and look.Maybe it is the waterpump or something.Is it difficult to change it? Do you have to remove cooler,aircond+++? Maybe i send the whole **** to the braker? I had it!

My water pump did exactly the same thing, the bearings were shot in it

Oh and mine is booked in on Tuesday for a new steering rack too, it's seems to be expelling fluid from the rack end seals!
 
I got lucky! I went to my local garage and asked the mech. to lift my car to see where the leak was.The lift was occupied,so he did a pressure test on the cooling system and found a hose that were having contact with the aircondition compressor.The owner of the workshop drove me personally home and will come and bring me to the workshop when my car is finished.:):):)

Feel for you too! I called my local lr workshop today to ask what it cost to change water pump.The price was over 1100£ !!! for only the water pump the price is 700£ !! In a part store the price is 220£ .The local lr dealers in Norway are stealers!:fighting:

I wrote a Water Pump Replacement How To a few months back....if your capable with a spanner you can do it yourself! Simple!

I will! i repair 90% myself ,but sometimes i don`t have the right tools or need a car lift.:cool:
 
I got mine changed by a BMW technician. see if a BMW garage or a BMW expert can do it. The hardest part on mine was getting the nut off the front of the radiator. Oh, and the pump was £70 adn the fitting £90.

Oh! Now the leak is fixed.It cost me 300£. The reason for this leak was the damned garage that had my steering rack in and out and placed the hose from the rad. to transmisson cooling in a way that it touched the ac compressor.I will k........l the manager of Norways worst garage!!! Hope my central door locking and power steering will be ok on wednesday at the lr main dealer outside Oslo! If not,i have to go to psychic treatment.:smash::smash::smash:

delivered my landy today at another garage for the final solution to solve the problems.Parked it behind the garage unlocked.Hope some bad guys steal the car.
