i have just bought a series 3 88",with a 2.5 di transit diesel, its running on a coilsprung galvanised "designa chassis" i believe using 90 front and rear axles, just wondering how feasable it would be to fit power steering and how difficult it would be ?? anyone got any ideas

cheers guys for any help :D

im kinda inclined to agree, tho to be honest this one feels heavier than the last one i had ,mabe its the big tyres ,or the box needs adjusting, mabe ill find out when i can prise the bloody thing out of her hands lol

big tyres will mek a difference... i put a fred on bout 101 wheels on a ser 3...they make it VERY VERY much heavier.....

7.50/16 lassa lt's or something similar ,mabe thats the answer, still got doubts that the steering box hasnt been nipped up a little bit much

possibly too. Shouldn be that heavier on those tyres i wouldnt have thought. might be worth gettin the box looked at.

i might just lift the front end and see how it feels with no weight on it ,mind think i need a over drive too sounds like its gonna explode at 45 ish ,and yup it is in high lol ,mabe the way the trannie diesel rev range is ,but to my mind deff needs another gear or mabe differant diffs than the (i presume )standard 90 ones thats its wearing at the moment

Shouldnt struggle at 45.. in fact mine sounds at its best between 45-50..diff investugation might prove fruitful i think.....

just sounds really busy ,like the diffs are too low geared ,i wouldve expected that with the 7.50's on it ,that it wouldve been higher geared than standard ,unless im thinking a*$e about face ,wouldnt be unusual lol

your right, bigger tyres should give higher gearing and it should sound less strained.. certainly thats the case on my 3 when ive got 101 wheels and 900 bar grips on it.. the difference is quite marked, same when i was runnin it on 750 mt's.. sounded a lot less strained for sure... hmmmmmm... mysteries on yer truck i think...

doesnt surprise me to be honest ,someones gone to some trouble to make it look like a 90 ,so gawd only knows what mix and match bits theyve used

Exactly. i think youve hit the nail on the head... have a good look at them diffs and see what you find.. let us know how you go....

mind you just coz it tops out at 45 ,howls like a banshee ,is made up of a million differant bits ,dont make me love it any the less lol,,,,,,,,saying that ,it has brakes that work ,a reasonably economical engine a reasonable ride ,doesnt leak oil ,,,,,,,,,, im not sure its really a landrover at all ,i thought it wasnt leaving puddles of oil coz it was empty ,but no its got oil in it
