My PS is leaking from the male/female union thingy on the bottom of the pump. I've tightened them up but it's still leaking. Do these have O rings on them or is there another fix for this problem?

Oops, it's a 300tdi by the way ;)

just did my pump and I seem to member its just a threaded union on one ( no O ring ) and a jubillie clip on the other. You sure its not leaking from the reseviour joints and seeping down ?

Just replaced all the power steering hoses on mine and the metal unions had small rubber o rings on them, pretty sure you can buy them separate to the hose...

Thanks for the replies,

It's definitely leaking from the pump joints, had it on full lock will looking underneath and could see it leaking. I'm gonna have a go at it this afternoon.

Anyone know what size the O rings are?

Bam... Outta curiosity, where did you get your p/s hoses from? Local specialists and motor factors round here can't get em in and say its a land rover item now... They want nearly 100 quid for the hose I need!

I got mine from the LR centre in Speke Liverpool, iv just had a look for receipt to check cost but can't find it, I seem to remember that one was £40 and the other £50, I get good discount from them tho coz I'm always breaking something..... They do mail order as well.

6mm RTC4825 & 8mm RTC4826 according to my parts book.

Thanks Discool, just doing it after I've changed the rear pads. Thankfully my gaffer is letting me use a barn to do it in, otherwise I'd be bloody miserable in this weather.:)

Did you manage to get it sorted?

Got it sorted thanks,

It was the O rings on the hose that must have corroded. Replaced them and all good now.

For anyone wanting to know, Discool was correct in saying they are 6mm & 8mm O rings.

Thanks again. :)

I have a leak from the joint on the metal hose bit on the pump, its the bit which comes with the pump it is held to the pump with 2x M6 bolts. The hose is part number ANR3133 and joins the bottom of the resivour to the pump (fixes with jubilee clips). I have had the 2 M6 bolts out and there is an O-ring under there dose anyone know the size of it? or if i can buy it separatly? i dont want to buy a new pump just because of this one o-ring.

Cheers

Rob
