Hi, I have a 2013 Freelander 2 and the power steering fluid needs topping up. The drivers's hand book says use Pentosin CHF202 and I have bought this spec. fluid at Halfords. It is green in colour.

On opening the fluid reservoir cap, the oil is a light brown colour, definitely not green. Is it likely that the oil in the car is the correct type and I can safely top up with the new oil? Thanks.
 
Many thanks td5driver. To be honest, the fluid in the car is more clear than brown, but point taken about changing it.
 
Definitely not reddish. Having syringed out the reservoir, there is a green tinge to the tan (!), so happy that the car has the correct stuff in it and I've added the correct spec.

Hi! Is anybody used Royal Purple MAX EZ? And is anyone used steering wheel lock before? I got Turnart (second one here) a few weeks ago and i need to fix something. Write me, please
