You may know this already, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I have just had to change a power steering hose on my disco 2 TD5. The hose in question goes from the reservoir (hose nearest the front of the car) to the bottom of the power steering pump. This has a metal "U" section at the bottom of it. This "U" section passes really close to the bottom of the engine block, and in my case has been rubbing against the block and has finally worn through the metal causing loss of fluid and loss of power steering.

So, if you weren't aware of this issue, then this is a friendly reminder to check the hose.

Cheers

Tim

Mine went last week only found the whole today mess everywhere, thankfully had the disco off the road since I noticed the pump labouring and the fluid level drop.

Mine was going the same way, found some clips on fleabay to hold it away from the sump flange using the nearby auto cooler pipe: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221276473068
