Hi,

Am currently thinking of trading in my toyota rav4 and getting either a 2005 Td4 SE or a 2006 Td4 Adventurer.

Im looking for peoples opinions on them in regards to everything (comfort, reliability, performance, etc) as i dont really know anybody with one and the one person i have had feedback from says their friend is always having problems with theirs.

Any info anyone can give is greatly appreciated.

As you will see from browsing the many previous threads on this sort of question, thd TD4 is the pick of the bunch.

Early models were plagued with problems, and the petrols were often disasterous, but we've got two diesels and love them both.

Cheers

The Td4 is indeed a nice car. The reliability isn't generally as good as the Rav but regular maintenance & checks are the key & sort out any issues as they occur before they become problems.
Ride & handling are superior to the Rav (by far) but the petrol Rav has the upper hand with performance (again by far). You can buy roverron tuning box for under £200 which just plugs in & improves the performance no end. Economy of the diesel is good, I get 30-32mpg out of my auto on a mixture of driving & can see 40mpg driven gently on a run. Manuals are around 5-6mpg better.

Landrover aint a reliable marque so maybe ya mates IS always shonked.dont get a petrol
