I have a Disco 1 1994 TDI 200, when I first got it the handbrake didn't really work (you had to pull it through the roof to make the transmission brake engage... and leave it in gear).
I took the brake to pieces to find it was full of grease. I cleaned it up, shut it up and it worked perfectly... except one problem (which occured before I fixed the brake too), when I engage the handbrake the car rolls back (or forward dependant on camber) approx 6 inches before stopping???
Is this worn prop shafts or are the props just sitting back on the cogs?
