Hi I have got a land rover freelander on a T-reg with the 1.8 rover engine, i was driving home and at that time i was only doing about 10mph and suddenly there was a big bang and and something started clonking, i thought i had a puncture so i coasted to a stop and then smelt gearbox oil, looked under the car and there was a big puddle of oil, the car has not locked up but when i was towing it something was clonking (say on every revolution of the wheels) i have been told it is the transfer box, has anyone else had this problem or can someone point me in the right direction of what to do or check.
any help would be much appreciated

Fitting Service We are able to offer a all-inclusive same-day fitting service which includes the new unit, oil, removal and refit, VAT and free use of a courtesy car. £1,064

That's £1K fitted including the unit, still a lot, but better than £1725
