After plenty of thought, I was going for the britpart. However, Polybush were not that more expensive. At last minute, went with polybush. Once fitted, Write up my views.
 
I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of my polly bushes, the combination of HD suspension upgrade and the bushes makes for a pretty harsh ride in my d1
 
Just got the Disco back with new Polybushes fitted. Given that Disco is 17 years old and probably on the original bushes, I knew that ride would be better. I must say, I am really impressed with the quality of the ride. The Disco is no longer wallowy and the ride is firmer, although not back breaking. My wife also commented how much better the ride is. Interestingly, the polybush kit consisted of two colours. The majority being Orange, with some blue. Reason for this is that Polybush feel this is the best combination. I spent hours Researching and wondering if to change bushes. At present, I am really glad I did so. The proof will be how long they last for.
 
I nearly went for britpart. I wanted to replace everything and the company I bought from priced everything up. There wasn't a great deal of difference between the two. Therefore went for slightly more expensive polybush. I do about 15k a year. I will review in a few months time, to keep people posted. Could useful for those thinking of replacing. It is so nice to go over speed humps without clonking sounds .
 
I had proper red polybush for nearly 20 years, but what failed was the steel sleeve (rusted and expanded, meaning I had to take the axles off and hacksaw the bolts.).... not the bush. But also due to rust in the radius arm the hole meant the new bushes were loose. I had to buy two new radius arms. I have now fitted proper blue polybushes to give a softer ride.
 
I see this all the time across forums, folks thinking they know better than the manufacturers who properly research the way in which each individual suspension joint has different requirements, ie. articulation in a singular plane, articulation over differing planes but the thing that flumoxes me is why choose an open bush over a sealed metalastic one, it's like removing the seals on your wheel bearings.
I'm not 100% confident I'm the sharpest tack here but I certainly aint joining youz all at the back of the class wondering how your open bushes are wearing out.
Yeah I'm contentious but I like me.

Winner here is the one who fits the real MaCoy.....imo.

The other aspect to consider is that a polybush can be removed easily with minimal pain and stress. I was going to use genuine metalastic bushes on my current rebuild... but I started replacing one or two polys, but then ended up doing the whole lot.. so actually, i could have then used a complete set of metalastic instead. (I do have a 12 ton hydraulic press in my stables/workshop). So.... basically, scenario now is that Disco1 now has all blue Polybushes, but at least my Series III leafsprung rebuild will be getting genuine press in metalastic bushes into the chassis and leaf springs (noting proper original leaf springs, and NOT parabolic..).....
 
The other point to remember is how dull the discussion of bushes becomes when you have seen it 77 times already! :D

Both metalastik and polybushes can work well, if properly fitted. And both have pros and cons of their own. I have had both over several vehicles over 30 years! :)

just one thing to add.... what would be the perfect scenario would be some polybushes enclosed in metal... there are some heavy duty racing ones on the market but they are for extreme conditions.... what would be good would be some made like the metalastic enclosed in metal but with soft blue poly material....
 
Now if manufactures dyed their bushes pretty colours you wouldn't even look at a poly, right?

I do get the potential extra potential free droop scenario in off road circles but ....
 
Best way to build up resistance to bugs is to follow through properly and clean those fingers with your mouth, go on, it makes sense, we're not looking honest;)

Much easier to remove the finger from my nose, and stick it up at you! :D

My resistance to irritating bugs is good, due to a long time on the farm, and a long time on lz! ;)
