I'm having a bit of a session on my 110 TD5 this weekend, fitting polybushes, new steering swivel joints, a-frame swivel, and anti-roll bar drop links.
I've got a question, can I remove front radius arms and rear lower links with the wheels on the ground or does it need to be jacked up?

you will need a couple of jacks ,to get arms to correct angle to fit arm to chassis ,one to support chassis the other axle

Ive done that job with the wheels on the ground. You will need a jack to get the bolts to line up though. Im not sure that it is easier this way though!

I saw a video on YouTube with someone dropping the radius arms with wheels on the ground (well, raised on a four poster ramp anyway) so what the hell, I went for it and did the same, albeit on my driveway - hey presto, it worked! Not too difficult, just did one arm at a time so the axle stayed reasonable in line. Lining up the bolts was pretty straightforward, just a little bit of light jacking in appropriate points to get the second axle bolt in but otherwise all good! My mate Mick at the local motor factors had more fun trying to get the bloody bushes out even with a 15 ton press but we shifted the buggers and only had to cut one out in the end.

Thanks for all the tips anyway. still being a relative newbie to taking a Defender apart, help from those of you more experienced is always appreciated.

Now to get that bloody panhard rod back in the chassis bracket.....
