Is that the foam stuff over the intakes below the windscreen ?
Just noticed mine are disintegrating.
Does that cause any damage e.g. getting drawn in ?
Are they anything special or can you just stick a bit of foam in place ?
Replacement Plenum foam filter, Part no. BTR9548 cost around a fiver, lasts about a month!! Just stops the big lumps of ****e getting towards the pollen filters..waste of time & money if you ask me.
I agree with Irish, sure the Plenum Foam is cheap enough but its a pain in the arse to
install and doesn't last long enough for all that effort. Personally i just check that area every now and again and if there's debris in there i get the compressor out and blow it out with the airline. Once thats done take pollen filters out clean that area and blow the filters with the airline. That way you can stop most of the crap and dust been blow into the car.
Pain in the ass doing it...its simple, but one of them jobs that they should make easy by access,,,, if you know what i mean, and if you don't, then you ant changed them!!!
Thanks for all your contributions folks.
Kinna confirmed what I already suspected ! I was just concerned that it might be another of the areas of increased sensitivity in the P38 that I didn't know about.
Dont touch it I did mine and I`ve had nothing but bleeding trouble since with water getting in through the door since I took the side window trim off I`ve tried all sorts and its still getting in, piece of ****e bit of foam leave it well alone
