tis a no brainer from here ....if yer got to sell summit cos of space its got to be the existing series. selling the spitfire has to be hassle in the long term.

**** i think ive agreed with dr evil....think id better go and lie in a dark room for a bit.

She says he is part of the family and can't go ever.

Consequently I get to spend whatever is needed on him :)

If you had said triumph stag I'd of said keep it but spitfire get rid enjoy the lightweight sounds good :)

Ah, but, if I don't take the opportunity to buy the Lightweight now I might regret it later... so, i guess what I should really do, is, buy it and keep the Spitfire? :p

We already have a 1949 Series 1 in the family, so, i'm covered from that 'special' angle :D

Thing with the current series is it is a mismash, abused (but loved) lump. The lightweight would be a nice shiny for doing gentle lanes in and generally just enjoying driving...

LOL, I was only commenting on available options .. ;)

Having read the rest of the thread, can we exchange wives?

LOL, actually Juliet's like that as well. If we can afford it, I can have it and she loves Landrovers as much as I do! Our trouble is not being able to afford it .. she'd have a Defender tomorrow, but we'd still keep the Disco too. Good on you mate, get 'em while you're young and can really enjoy them .. ;)

spitfires are great little cars for great little people.
we had our MK4 fer 8 years, but it wer the mrs car.
years rolled on after selling yellow spit and we bought next door neighbours "restored" baby blue MK3.
goodye mrs thought,
hmm, I thought.

so fekin hard to get in one now, even harder to get out,
so,
memmories are worth keeping,
fekin spitfires are not "when" you are old.

love my disco tho`
easy`ish to get in,
falling out is easier. :)

That's alright... i'm young :D

It's decided... from hear on forward, we will not sell any proper car we buy, we'll just keep them all and buy more :D No point regretting selling one in the future :D

How the hell can being told by the wife what to do be a bonus????????

Because she's the boss, therefore any additionals you get are bonus's over and above your "salary" bit like getting an extra bacon butty with your cuppa in the morning......

Suggest you get the lads round to build you an extra garage :)

Definately get rid of the spit and buy lots and lots of Ja....Landrovers :D

If i could I would buy a Jaguar XK120 roadster in British Racing Green. That is by far and a way my dream car.
Until then... i'll just keep buying Land Rover's!

I'm making the most of it, you never know when it ends sadly.

Well done for ripping off a frenchman ;) I know for a fact i'll never make back what the Spitfire has cost me. Spent more putting it back on the road than I ever paid for it in the first place :( That's unless i keep it for another 50 years... then it might be worth a bit more!
