hello
after trying to find out info on my ex police rangy
ive stumbled across a label on the speedo reading rs notts
i understand that they are calibrated by rs
not sure on who or where as ive googled them but no real answers
anyone out there with an ex police rangy
would like to find out alot more on vechicle

rs calibrate the speedo so they are 100% accurate,i had a 95 4.0 se some9- 10 years ago and it had wires everywhere ,srs was deactivated storage boxes in boot & some sort of control box for lighting on the inner n/s flitch.tbh it was 100% reliable prob due to being maintained regardless of cost and motorway driving.it also had a sticker on the rocker cover stating it had a genuine l/r replacement engine.mine was orriginally a Stafford police motorway car

I believe standard practise for the police is to replace engines at 100k. On some vehicles engine and gearbox. A company I worked for years ago had an ex-pol Transit that had 125k on the clock, it had the engine replaced at 99k. But in that last 26k it reached the age limit so was punted on. I imagine they are a tad more frugal these days, but heyho.

If my memory serves me right, back in the 70/80's Essex police used to replace their cars (Fords) at 80k but RangeRovers at 200k. Of course this was before LR had the bright idea of overboring the V8

great feed back guys...is that standard about replacing engines at 100k
ive spoke to colman milne who modified it but not yet ive any info
going through the to do list!!
having to replace everything on the inside due to some naughty scallywags who have been on their way to a police cell
its not so bad as most bits are now in carbon fibre!!
photos soon....now to get rid of those flashing lights!

That's nothing to do with the police - it's normal Lucas electrics !!!
