Hi All,

Brand new to the forum. have recently been experiencing my first few issues on my 2002 Disco II, and figured this would probably be the best resource to tackle some if not all of them.

THanks in advance for all the help,

Andreas

so here my first issue / question.

I recently had an issue with my Disco II where I got zero torque when accelerating (automatic transmission). first diagnosis i got from mechanic/diagnostic computer here was that the fuel pump was faulty, so we changed this, but it made no difference (in hindsight i dont actually think the pump was gone).

after searching some forums including this one, we changed out the injector harness / loom wire after having read that oil spray can penetrate this and cause a short circuit.

voila, torque was back... somewhat. i now have a new / other issue. the car drives, gears change, and everything seemed fine, until i tried to overtake on an uphill over the weekend. i floor the gas, the car gears down, revs go up, but i do not get any additional torque nor does the gear change to a higher gear.

any idea what this may be related to..? could it be the new fuel pump, or maybe the harness, or would this be something totally new / different? any help is appreciated

Maybe the transmission itself, or the torque converter? I'm no expert when it comes to auto transmissions (I'm no expert anyway! :D ). My D2 TD5 is a manual.

Get yourself on over to the Discovery section and post your question in there ;)

WELCOME!

thanks, thought it could be the TC but ideally would like confirmation before buying abroad and shipping down (live in Jamaica, and car parts attract a lot of duty).

i have tried to post in the 'problem' section of the forum, but it won't allow me to do so. do i need to accumulate a certain number of points, etc to qualify? how do I do that if so?

I don't know, perhaps one of the admins can help?

I always thought the only sections you could not post in without a certain number of posts was the wanted/for sale areas.
