hi, i have just passed my test and i want a seris 3, but i cant find any insurance company that will insure me, its not that i'm too young, its just that they dont seem to have series 3's on their list of cars!, please could anyone tell me which company their with, i've tried elephant and suceeded but i got a quote of £2300! ! !.
thanks :)

Jeesh, how old ARE you, 12? Or are you a bank robber & fessed up online to wanting insurance for a ram raid?

Try www.confused.com Yeah, they do advertise on the telly, which I've usually found is a bad sign! BUT, I put my details in & they came up with loads of quotes (leave it to run a while, it takes some time, but it does seem to be worth it). As it happened the cheapest quote was with the insurer I was already with for my other car, but they do seem to do "what it says on the tin"!

My III for a 41 Y/O bustard like me, 3rd party F&T was a shade over £100, result! First time I've ever paid my premium in one go!

Good luck,
Marcus.

My office junior is 17 years old, 3 points for speeding and has a H reg 90Tdi, He pays £670 fully comp with the nice people at The National Farmers Union.

I insure my V8 disco with them and pay £127 tpft!!!!!

Go on giv'em a try!!!!!:D

You mentioned them before Retsgom..........so, you don't have to be a farmer or anything? No restrictions or a need for waxed, cotton clothing? I'll give them a shufty next year if so.

No Green Wellys or Straw Hat Needed!!!!!!!!

I always insure with them and, they have ALWAYS been 20/40% cheaper than the rest!!!!!

My local office is at Matlock in Derbyshire, But they will insure any vehicle anywhere in the country!!!!! They do direct debits, and unlike most insurers they DONT ask you for a deposit!!!!!! There phone number is 01629 582025.

PS, IM A LAWYER AND THEY INSURE ME!!!!! NUFF SED!!!!!!!

Elephant quoted me £368 TPF&T
Confused.com Quoted £162 FC though lancaster

RESULT!!

Well, Mr R, being a Lawyer & getting good terms IS a result. See, I heard that Scientists have started using Lawyers in some of their experiments as they've found a few things that rats won't do! ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist- Yeah, like I can boast, I work in Social Housing! I AM going to check out these Farmer boys next year though. I'd never have thought of them before! :D

Best,
Marcus.

Join the NFU, and get cheap insurance, @17 it was the only place i could get a decent quote from on my series2, others didnt want to know or gave me silly quotes, may aswell have bought a gti golf.

@ 17, nice one, these guys seem GOOD. Going to have to subscribe next year "now I'm a farmer, And I'm digging, digging, digging, digging, diiiiging".

WHO's showing their age now? :D

Yep, me!

hi thanx for the recomendations, but i wtill havent managed to find a quote yet! :-( i rang NFU and they said i had to be 25 ot older for them ot insure me!.

well i suppose im just gonna have to keep lookin.

thanks for ya help anyway cheers :)

Is there no way that you can get your parent's to insure the beast and have you as a named driver, this is fine aslong as it's their name on the v5 and they drive it more than you (nudge, nudge etc), if this is not practicable(?) my policy is with snowball insurance, you could try them. I think the main problem is that most companys that have the old rovers on their books are classic brokers and as such don't deal with underwriters that have any interest in young folk . I assume you've called every company in the back of the mag's?. STIFF UPPER LIP, thing's have a way of sorting themselves out in the longterm..

Give Footman James a ring [0121-5614196], you will probably qualify for a classic insurance with a series.
Just to really 5iss you off, fully comp on my S2 with no mileage limitation and full UK and continental recovery and a guaranteed valuation is ..............£112:)

Hi Try either Highway insurance or Adrian Flux because 2300 is insane quote less you specified around 20,000 miles with offroad.

Some of the high street insurance companies are going to rip you off especially the search engine versions. Try NFU they may be cheaper

Try adrian flux - im 23 with 1 year ncb and I pay 300 tpft on my s3.

Edited to say I am in motor trade which doesnt help, car is parked on the road and have told em about the bigger wheels and the snorkel ;) They also quoted me less than 400 tpft on an old v8 classic rangie. Milegae limited to 5000 tho.

That's pretty good for your age, etc. Young un's, bear them in mind.

Now I must go change me bag & apply me Ralgex.

try footman james in the midlands they do good deals ,just done one for my 17 year old son for his mk2 escort £635 tpft on classic

Eyup ctownshend. I've got my Series 2 insured with Sureterm, its something like £160 fully comprehensive with a few goodies included. I dont know your circumstances but maybe it might be worth considering the possibility of being a named driver if you got a family member to insure.

Regards WP.

Well, Heidi is insured with NFU as well! They were the only company to even give us a quote when we bought her: first civilian owners, 24v diesel series 3 just sent the other insurance companies into shutdown mode. We had comments like: "are you sure it's not a 101?" and "There's no such thing as 24v diesel" etc. etc. The nice lady at the NFU just said "Landrover two-and-a-quarter diesel: no problem!" Fully comp is £160 ish :)
