So have a series 2 td5. Been driving fine. Suddenly decides its going to chuck out all its coolant and black smoke out the exhaust. Car turns over but won't fire up after replacing water etc. Any suggestions, it's on the side of the road as we speak? Thanks in advance.

Water out of exhaust sounds like head gasket gone but would give white smoke, so was it running ok then stopped in a few mins .?
A compression test might show something

Yes, thanks. Recovery has been arranged now. Still no idea tbh.

Thank you for your reply. Recovery has been arranged now. The car chucked out smoke grayish I think, hard to tell in the fading light.
