Hi all
I am a newbie and would like to seek some.

I have a 1999 freelander 2.0 di

1st fault
The same central looking fault, I know you must be sick of being asked about this but mine when I push the fob once you can hear drivers solenoid working but don't open the door, if I push it twice it will open passenger front door but not the rears and if I lock with fob it will lock everything, my question I've heard that something seizes up??? Is this true as all solenoids seem to work

2nd fault
Rear boot door window goes down very slowly and up even slower and now when I try to open the boot door the window will only drop a few mm and door won't open, could this be regulator or motor?

I am sorry if you have been asked this 1000s time before but can't find a solution

Many thanks for any help in advance

Hi
I did introduce myself on the newbie area, and also did look under the search area and found loads of posts with problem but no fixes, all I wanted to know is there anything on the solenoid that can stop working or seize up, and I do apologise as I know the same questions must be so frustrating

Cheers

tis the solenoid in the lock assembly which has failed, buy new door locks, start with the drivers, about £65 ea and an hour to do

as for the rear window, strip, lubricate, reassemble.

good luck

Hi Optimus prime
It is the solenoid like you said so ordered the drivers door first like you said and stripped rear tailgate lubricated and put back together working a lot better now, but seems to have mind of its own when you press window up or down it keeps stopping and bleeping and when window is closed and open tailgate the window will drop but won't go up when close the door like it used to, does it need programming ? And how

Thank you for your help

sounds like rear window needs recalibrating.

disconnect battery, wait ten mins then reconnect, tailgate window will lower itself all the way to the bottom automatically.

turn ignition on, raise tailgate window using dashboard switch to the top, will bleep twice and job done.

hopefully, that will work for you, but I have written the instructions from memory as I no longer have my freelander or manuals

Thank you, the window wouldn't drop to the bottom after reconnecting the battery so I dropped window down before taking battery off to confuse it and it worked a treat.

Thank you so much for your help
