When you said judder I thought you meant steering/suspension.

So it's kangarooing or is sudden power loss?

it both revs drop then pick up then drop also kicking out white smoke
at low speed its fine tho

just checked coolant level all oil alls good. is seemed ok when i left work then when it warmed up and hit nat speed limit couldnt get past 60 and it took a bit of time to get there it was like it was running out of fuel

what colour is the coolant? Ordinarily I would suspect a blown turbo or gasket gone south. Yours is a pertol?

doh! I was reading it as an Xei.
the Turbo
Fuel high pressure fault?
injector leak/worn

That's my limit of Freelander knowledge

rekon you need an L-series expert to help out here ..

~~~~~~~~~
maybe you got some contaminated fuel ..
with freezing weather i'd be wary of water in the fuel ..
( condensation from storage tanks )
kicking out white smoke indicates the fuel is not burning properly ..
could it be something to do with pump timing on the L-series .. maybe ?
try running some 'diesel rhino' through it ..
( google it .. combats water-in-fuel amongst other things )
or some other additive that will do the same ..
do a site search for 'L-series faults' ..
( i just did .. but didn't find much .. except for 'tuning' )
try googling 'L-series faults roverdiesel dot co dot uk '
