If you have a google account and visit map in safari, then click add to my places. Open map app and in my places you will see rescue map.
Does this work?

There is no my places on google maps on iPhone

It should appear as an option when visiting map page and signed into google -there should be save to my places option-if there isn't I'll have to find someone with an iPhone or iPad that will let me use it for an hour.

Thanks for your efforts :)

It has opened in Google Earth and it even shows the roof of me Fender!!

Okay can you write a ipad or iphone specific howto and i can amend instructions.

Shame the only person I know with am ipad lives miles away,so any howto's would be great

On the iPad you first have to download the Google Earth application, and then you can download the one for Google Maps.
When you zoom in to Google Earth, the locations then appear on some kind of hybrid between Earth and maps.
Confusing at first, but easy to get used to.

How much is a g/b rebuild then James? Cus i'm pretty damn sure mines on it's way out :(

he was completely knackered over £300 for parts alone but that included replacing all t/box gears as well as main box gears and synchro unit ,mainshaft as well as bearings etc ,i used to be able to buy gears at £13 each and gen bearings at £6 average but some are £25 now ,unfortunately the modern world now isnt so much about ensuring good parts are available to keep things going as was not so long ago but cash and fast moving items etc
