I know a picture speaks a thousand words but I don't have a picture so here goes:
On my 4.6L I have 7 pullies including the the tensioner. Starting from the crank pully and working clockwise:-
Belt comes from underneath crank pully and round the outside of the tensioner, over the top of the altenator. It then goes under the waterpump pully before going over the top of the power steering pump and air con pullies. Finally it comes round over the top inside of the final pully which should leave you back at the crank.
I suggest that you draw your pullies on a piece of paper then try to transcribe my notes on the paper. That might make it more understandable.
Hope it works.
