I have a 2001 Freelander and the desiel tank pump didnt work when fuel low new and the engine malfunction light came on new pump fitted but ligh still not going off, garage says its P1612 on the code thingy but they cannot find this in the books.

Anyone any idea what this code is for as garage cannot reset computer.

i know im not going to be any help to you but take it to a diesel specialist. one with some proper kit. when it come to fuel issues the smaller garage hasnt seen enough cars to have probaby come across your problem.

anyway, someone will come along here in a mo and tell you what that code is.
