Hello, does anyone know if you need a ignition amplifier for the lucas 35d8 distributor? i got a faint spark at coil but none at all at the plugs. ive changed the coil and all the usalls but still nothing. I recently bought the car and it drove home fine but aint started since.

it should have a little box on the side of the dizzy or if its a later serpentine engine then it will be next to the rad.

You can fit em with the dizzy in if you take the vac unit off and turn it.

35D8 is early dizzy with points and condenser.

If it's got points try resetting the points gap and changing the condensor. It's worth looking to see if someone has fitted an aftermarket amp in the ignition circuit 'cos if it's failed you can just bypass it

Sorry dont mean to sound stuppid but what is the problem on disco , deffender or rangrover , only had sam problem on my disco it was imobalizer unit packed up ? Left me with weak spark at coil and no spark at plugs .
