So,
Having helped the Old one buy a new towing vehicle last week and got the bits to start sorting it. Today was a day to start fitting and fixing.( finger crossed).
Points noted when plugging the nanocom in during the pre purchase drive.
1) MAF reading low. New one ordered.
2) Temperature reading lowish, Max 75 C, new temp gauge ordered.
3) Full service incl, filters and ALL oils needed.
4) Waxoyl of Chassis will need to be done , altho it does appear to be in fine fettle.
5) Red plug full of oil, so new injector loom needed.
So Today having received all the parts, Off i went to play.
1) MAF changed , air filter changed and now the reading is where it should be mid to high 50's at idle.
2) ECT changed, temp still mid 70's max on a run, same as the old one. Will change for one in my D2 when next over, as that reads 88ish at running temp. EDIT: notes, Rad is hot at the top passenger side corner and this travels half way across the rad then it is cool by the bottom drivers side corner. Thermostat is also on radar to be changed.
3) Oil changed and all filters.
4) Fuel filter changed............... the puppy would not start. Disconnected the fuel return pipe to the FPR from the head and the flow was pretty dire, swapped the pump from my D2 and hey presto the old girl started on a turn of the key. New pump ordered. Wonder how long the old girl has been running onlow pressure at the head. Will also take the Fuel pressure kit to check it.
5) Found a coolant leak at the classic place of the oil cooler blanking plug. replaced with a spare silicone one, same as I used fro my leak in the same place.
6) Injector loom changed . Red plug cleaned.
Have to love days like this.
Cheers
