Taking the FL in for a full service next week, cam belts, fluids 'n all.
So I'm taking bets on which bits will be missing when I get it back this time
if there was bits missing last time why would you put your fl back to a garage that are clearly not capable of doing a proper jobTaking the FL in for a full service next week, cam belts, fluids 'n all.

Don't take the risk, do it yourself

Well I dropped it off last night as planned.
Got a call from them today saying the rear bank is leaking oil and they strongly recommend new head gaskets.
Oh well no Easter eggs this year then!
Why do they suggest new HG'S? They don't need doing unless they have failed!! Where is the oil leaking from? I doubt it's the HG more likely the cam cover gasket which is an easy job
Does it loose water? If not then the HG'S are fine The KV6 is'nt known for spontaneously popping HG'S like the 4 pot and doesn't need them as a matter of course!!
All very true.
However, they are pretty much taking it to bits anyway to replace the cam belts.
At least this way nothing is missed, and the HGs were suspect anyway, although there is no significant coolant loss and no oil in the coolant.
Maybe they can check the rings and liners at the same time? Just a thought.
Plus I could use some new carpets...
Anyway I'll let you know how it goes...
diy is the only way forward
