The Scorpions work well on my wifes VW Tiguan!! Tones of grip in the wet and dry!! It's not a FL but the suspension design and weight is closer to a FL than a Disco!!

I've found them for £85 fitted too, hard to resist at that price. Do tyres generally have any kind of time/mileage warranty? If they go after 9k I'd be looking for me money back!!

Mixed reviews to be sure, but worth a punt I think.

Funnily enough, I just mentioned this to my old man and he says he's had Scorpions on every car he's had for the last ten years, so two disco's and a volvo V70. Says he gets about 40k off them usually and they're the mutts nuts. If that ain't a good review I don't know what is.

ran them on 17" and got 30k to the last set good grip in all conditions. Too dear on 17" now used to be about ton now £180.

don't think quite as good in snow/mud as the old ST variant they used to do - now called STR i believe which was my second set.

had to down grade to kuhmo now but to be honest can't tell diff and wearing well. still 120 a piece and up 20 quid in a year!

get em quick cos tyres like everything only heading in one direction

I had them all round on the TD4 but after 3 years use they started to perish quite badly, cannot complain about the grip though :)

The problem I had was that they were purchased locally when we lived in Bedfordshire but the failure only came to light after we had moved over here to Ireland.
It just wasn't worthwhile contacting Pirelli as the tyres would have to have been returned to the supplier who in turn would have to bring in the Pirelli rep ...................:argue:

Bought my FL a couple of months back with 40k on the clock – I’ve done a little over 2k since. The Scorpions on there the originals and are beginning to look a bit rough; they will be replaced before winter. That said they’re doing a fine job coping the wet/dry/mud/more wet/Jesus that’s a lot of water/****y roads of Lincolnshire. The extra width helps a lot with the handling but does make the steering feel tight when on full lock but I can live with that.
