New hoses would make no difference to performance unless your old hoses had collapsed inside or were leaking. Old rubber hoses can "balloon" slightly under boost, but I'd seriously doubt you would feel it. The turbo can easily supply 300 cubic feet of air per minute at 18psi. A few cubic inches lost to a couple of ballooning hoses is nothing.
I suspect any improvements felt are simply a placebo effect.

well I put it down to my old pipes not being in good order but it did make a difference, as for 90 mph my old td4 would do 115mph, sorry but I am a bit of a speed freak and always have been but only where it is safe . I used to race things like go carts in the 60's , when they had gears not autos oh to be young again with no aches and pains.
