Hello Boys and Girls.

Just Bought some whopping 235/85/16's to replace my gay little 215/65/16's but...

What adjustments will I need to make?

If I put the new tyres against the wheel arches they will only fit with a bit of pushing and shoving And Im guessing when I turn they will rub the arches?

Has anyone els Pimped there ride and done the same?

Do I need a lift kit? wheel spacers? and to chop my wheel arches up?
Its fine if I do (Im actually looking forward to doing it)
But just after some input.

Let me know.

Pablo.

When you hit a corner, change to the 215's. When your back on a straight road, go back to the 235's :D

Dear Cockster, If this a wind up it is fabulously poor, lift the body limit steering-or just burn it:D

Why do you want big wheels? Haven't you noticed that most 4x4's have smallish wheels and big tyres?

Unfortunately my hippo came with silly wheels. I wish it had the normal steel wheels because it seems that I can't get decent tyres suitable for off-road. Either that or the guy from Hi-Q was talking out of his ass? I'm sure someone will clarify.

EDIT: You bought new tyres and not wheels? If so, your thread title is misleading.

you need to fit a Defender to them, ha,ha

Won't fit. The biggest you can fit are 235/70/16's. 85 profile is just big and you'll need to make major mods to make them not rub when turning. Never mind wheel arches, you'll probably need to reshape the sump guard frame too, and they probably would catch on the struts.

well thanks for nothing you bunch of computer geeks.
I asked what modifications you need to make??
Any sugestions?
If youve got anymore wise cracks shov em up your arse.

If you read the post I made, you'll see the diameter of the new tyres is 4.75 inches bigger than the 215/65R16 standard you have. Line up one of the new tyres against your rear wheel. Putting the issue of the front tyres to one side, the rear will not fit as it's too close to the plastic arches. Photo below of standard suspension with 215/65R16 tyres. Sorry I don't have a pic of the rear wheel doing this. Look at the gap at 3 and 9 o'clock and good luck with your project. 15 inch wheel spacers?

Fecking knob. The modifications you would need to make would be beyond your DIY limits, i know this since you're asking what mods you'd need to make. If you had the ability to carry out the mods you probably wouldn't need to ask us.

Therefore the diagnosis i gave was WON'T FECKING FIT

Widening the arches would probably also include modifying the monocoque shell (especially at the rear) which would be a hell of a job and it would probably lose a lot of it's strength. Then where you gonna get someone to mold new plastic arch trim for ye?

Do a bit of fecking research before you go buying stuff. You gave the salesman a bloody easy day.

Before yu burn it sell me the tyres. I know what mods I'll need to do and how to do them. So won't need to get abused by these CuuNTs :D :D I'll give ya £5 for em.
